THE FOUNDER

FROM SAN DIEGO HOCKEY TO SOMETHING BIGGER

Jack Gates grew up in San Diego, starting in roller hockey before making the long drives required to play on ice. He moved into the Anaheim and Los Angeles hockey world, played juniors in Janesville, and eventually landed at Colorado College.

At Colorado College, a presentation from the president of a new children's hospital turned into an idea: connect his teammates with kids and families who needed a moment that felt bigger than the hospital room. That idea became Triumph Together.

250+

THE IMPACT

In the year before this collaboration, Triumph Together supported more than 250 children across the country through athlete connections in hockey and beyond.

THE WORK

THE CONNECTION IS THE POINT

Triumph Together started with Jack coordinating every introduction himself. Today, families find the organization through referrals, hospitals, social media, teams and other nonprofits. Jack then works across a growing network of collegiate and professional athletes to create a connection that feels personal.

The athlete matters, but the real work is giving a child and their family a moment of support, confidence and belonging.

THE MOMENT

MATTHEW KNIES JUST WORE IT

No sponsorship. No campaign deal. Matthew Knies wore the Triumph Together hat into an NHL game because the story meant something to him.

That is what this product is meant to do. It carries the mission without feeling like one-use charity merchandise. It belongs in hockey, and it opens the door to a conversation that matters.
